How to Perfect Your Wall Edits in Fortnite

Clean wall edits are one of the most important mechanics in Fortnite. Whether you’re taking peaks, escaping pressure, or pushing an opponent, being able to edit a wall quickly and consistently can decide the fight. This exercise focuses on improving your crosshair placement and edit accuracy so you never fumble an edit in-game.

To train this efficiently, we’ll use Raider’s Mechanics Training Map, which is designed to simulate real fight scenarios from every possible wall angle.

Wall Edit Training Setup

Start by loading into Raider’s Mechanics Training Map and selecting the Competitive section. From there, choose Edit Training. For beginners and intermediate players, it’s recommended to start with Static mode, as moving edits can be overwhelming at first.

You can deselect edit types that you don’t commonly use, especially if you’re a more casual player. This helps you focus on the most practical edits you’ll encounter in real matches.

How the Exercise Works

Once the exercise starts, you’ll see a red guide line on the wall. This line shows the exact edit pattern you should follow. Your goal is to trace this red line as accurately as possible with your crosshair before confirming the edit.

The map forces you to edit walls from many different positions — close up, from above, from below, and from awkward angles. While some of these situations don’t happen often in real games, mastering them ensures you’re prepared for any scenario under pressure.

How to Practice Effectively

When starting out, focus on precision rather than speed. Follow the red line closely and avoid rushing the edit. As you become more comfortable, gradually increase your speed while maintaining accuracy.

A good benchmark is completing around 100 edits per session. This drill works especially well after aim training, as your hand will already be warmed up and responsive.

Why This Drill Matters

Consistently practicing wall edits like this builds strong muscle memory and eliminates hesitation during fights. If you can perform these edits cleanly in this training map, you’ll be able to edit confidently in real matches, no matter your positioning or the pressure you’re under.

Stick to this routine regularly, and wall edits will become second nature in your gameplay.
